XMAS 2010 : Our parts shop will close at 5.00 pm on Thursday 23rd December. We are open between Xmas & New Year on Wednesday 29th & Thursday 30th 10.00am -2.00pm. Parcel Force & Royal Mail will be collecting / delivering on these dates too !
We reopen as normal on Tuesday 4th January 2011 9.00 am. Website ordering and... e-mail quotes available throughout the holiday period. All orders placed before 1st January will be processed at the cheaper vat rate .

BARN FIND MGB SPARES !!

I have just brought in a huge amount of used MGB spares from a typical barn find / abandoned project. There are dozens of wire wheels , doors , wings . tailgates etc - various condition but all original panels ! The haul includes Weber carb conversion on manifold, front built up cross-member with telescopic damper conversion, wire wheel front axle, aluminum bonnets, overdrive gearboxes etc .

"O" SERIES IN MGB - IT CAN BE DONE !

Local MG enthusiast Mike Arnot [ organizer Durham Classic Car club ] has recently completed his long term project and fitted the O series engine from a SD1 Rover into his chrome bumper MGB. As Mike is keen to point out , this engine was designed to fit the MGB if manufacture had continued past 1980. The full details of this conversion can be found in the June edition of Enjoying MG magazine.

TSSC LOCAL TREASURE HUNT

Local TSSC member Joe Grundy has e mailed me and advises of latest local event :

"I confirm the details of the Treasure Hunt I'm doing for the local TSSC branch, for which you kindly donated the £20 gift voucher.

It will be held on Sunday April 25th and will be based around Morpeth.

The first car will be set off at 10:30am and the 'start' will be manned until the last car has been despatched.

There will be no charge to enter, but non-TSSC-member entrants are welcome to make a donation to branch funds, if they feel so inclined.

CROFT CIRCUIT

I have always had a big soft spot for my local circuit : Croft in North Yorkshire.
In August local clubs are holding a Classic Car & Military Event . Check it out at www.croftmilitary.co.uk
Whilst on the subject of Croft circuit I could not resist including one of my favorite pictures of the SCS GT6 race car being pursued by Colin & Helen Elstrop [ Spitfire Mk 3 & GT6 2 respectively ]
Colin is lucky enough to have an entry in this years Le-mans Classic in his TVR - we wish him every success.

Here is a picture of Keith Edmunds [Wednesbury UK] Spitfire mk 4 now fitted with : 2lt Vauxhall engine ,2.8 Cosworth Gear Box ,GT6 Brake discs with twin pot caliper brakes.
Keith bought the car from me about 2 years ago and hopes to complete the bodywork side of the rebuild in 2010 .

Sportscar Supplies is pleased to once again be the main sponsor of MG Northumbria 's annual classic car show taking place at Tynedale Park Corbridge on Sunday 4th July.
